Spurious attempts to get a celeb on Twitter to reply to you by constructing a complicated tweet that seems either a) too clever to be ignored, b) Embarrassingly trite or c) referencing a dying relative who might just recover if their uncle / aunt / cousin got a reply. In extreme cases, the Twitterer employs sites such as ‘twittords.com’ to coin a word to try to get said celebs attention.

Concerned friend: “What ARE you doing sitting in that darkened room, wasting away, eating nothing but Pot Noodles and drinking Red Bull?”
Twitterer: “Leave me alone. I’m Fry-fishing.”

1. One who follows to try to get free publicity for their dating site / marketing guru site / sex site / etc, and who, on not being followed back, blocks you.
2. One who follows with the sole aim of trying to get followers, so they can imagine they have lots of friends.
